The fascinating Caribbean island of Cuba has plenty to offer all kinds of visitors.
Many tourists come to Cuba for the white-sand beaches and all-inclusive resorts at Varadero, but for those that want to see some of the country this two-week itinerary offers a selection of highlights.
First, spend three days in Havana, taking in the delights of the Old Town, visiting the museums and sampling some of the best food in the country. Don’t forget to head down to the Malecon at sunset, a favorite spot for Cubans young and old, and look over the sea.
After Havana, head to Vinales for two days, famous for the tobacco production. Here you can find out how the iconic Cuban cigars are made, and stock up on some to take home.
Now it’s time to head to the colonial beauty of Trinidad and laze around on the amazing beaches nearby for a couple of days. From here, head on to the town of Cienfuegos for two days for a dose of history and some culture from the interior of the country.
Next stop is the charming town of Sancti Spiritus, where you can spend a couple of days taking in the cafes and restaurants. To top off your trip, head to the beaches at Varadero, but avoid the larger resorts. Stay for three days for a relaxing end to your time in Cuba, before a last blowout night in Havana.
