The popular ride service Uber practically dominates the ride-service industry as it totes passengers to and from airports, grocery stores and restaurants in comfort and style. In an attempt to grow its services, the car service giant recently filed a patent to develop Uber Travel, an all-encompassing app that will allow users to view and book flights, lodging and transportation, including its Uber vehicles.

Once the dates and locations are entered for your travel plans, the app will essentially plan your travel for you. Flight suggestions, hotel options and the price for an Uber to and from all these places will calculate.

Based on your chosen data, Uber Travel will calculate at what time and place you should request your Uber vehicle. By knowing the time your flight lands, for example, the app will notify you of the location of the next Uber vehicle, and will suggest an appropriate time to request that Uber based on local traffic and demand. The app will consider time possibly spent in line at customs and at baggage claim, modifying its schedule for your convenience.

Since Uber has been banned at some airports nationwide, there may be foreseeable issues with the company’s new application, but if combined with other elements of travel, Uber Travel could be a one-stop option for travelers seeking simplicity.
