The historic mining town of Park City is known for endless acres of fresh powders and skiable terrain, featuring two major ski areas across the breathtaking Wasatch Mountains. In addition to some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the world, find plenty of other exciting activities to keep you busy and entertained throughout your day.
Throughout the day, be sure to take advantage of Park City, Summit County’s fare-free transit system, providing easy access to recreational areas, the Historic District and Kimball Junction for free.
Pop into Atticus Coffee, Books & Teahouse on Main Street for breakfast. Fuel up for the day with the Buddha bowl, featuring chai-infused oatmeal with dried fruits, caramelized walnuts, cinnamon and honey drizzle.
Take a break from the slopes on your visit and check out the Alf Engen Ski Museum, a world-class facility that highlights the history of all skiing disciplines with interactive touch screen displays, videos, a virtual reality ski theater and games. Admission is free.
Spend the rest of the morning exploring historic Main Street and visiting the quaint boutique shops before lunch at High West Distillery & Saloon, the world’s first and only ski-in distillery and gastro-saloon. Take a seat at the bar, made of reclaimed wood from the Great Salt Lake Trestle Bridge of 1904, and nosh on seasonal fare from the lunch menu like a small plane featuring provolone, Asiago, local bread and tomato soup for $14.50.
Strap on your snowshoes for an afternoon adventure on the trails to learn about the trees, wildlife, flowers and Park City mining history. Park City boasts hundreds of miles of trails, with many groomed for visitors by the Mountain Trails Foundation. Mountain Visa Touring rents snowshoes and poles for $35 per day.
Finish the day at The Farm, recently named one of the Top 25 Restaurants in Utah by Salt Lake Magazine for its sustainably-sourced menu. Get a taste of Utah with the Koosharem Steelhead trout dish, featuring local fish with truffled leek risotto and snow peas and a cup of the braised oxtail onion soup, starting from about $10.
