Nestled on Florida’s renowned Treasure Coast, north of Palm Beach and south of Vero Beach, the Atlantic Coast city of Stuart offers visitors a variety of water activities to enjoy, including fishing and swimming, as well as plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining and unwinding in its historic and pedestrian-friendly downtown.
Before hitting the beach, visit Osceola Street Café in the downtown area for a fresh, made-to-order, healthy breakfast. Grab an egg omelet for $5.50 or a scrambled egg sandwich for $3.40.
Catch some rays on one of the finest beaches on the east coast. Hunt for shells, take a dip and enjoy Martin County’s natural resources with a walk on the beach.
After working up an appetite swimming the Atlantic, enjoy casual waterfront dining and friendly service at Pelican Café and Beach, offering sand or deck seating and great views of the beautiful St. Lucie River. The open-air spot offers daily specials, with items like fish tacos starting from $11.95 and burgers from $9.95.
In afternoon, embark on a sailing adventure with Treasure Coast Sailing Adventures, offering day sails from $30. Sailors depart from the Stuart Riverwalk Pier and sail aboard the Lily.
Spend the evening strolling the boardwalk along the beautiful St. Lucie River before visiting Spoto’s Oyster Bar for fresh-shucked, cold water, Blue Point oysters. In addition to indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant offers entrees from $18.50 and fresh seafood from $8.75.
Finish the night with a sweet treat at Hoffman’s Chocolate, offering locally handmade gourmet chocolates from $2 in the downtown area.
