Toronto is a multicultural city on the waterfront in Ontario, Canada. Explore this bike-friendly city in the late spring and early summer or brave the chill and visit in the winter. No matter when you arrive, you’ll want to spend more than one day.
Have a leisurely breakfast at Mystic Muffin in downtown Toronto, a quirky Mediterranean café in business for more than 22 years. Their apple cake is phenomenal; grab a piece and cup of coffee for about $5.
Head to the Royal Ontario Museum; tickets cost $17 per adult. The museum has a wide breadth of exhibitions, including a dinosaur hall and Chinese architecture gallery. Visit on a Friday night for the Friday Night Live music programs from May 1 to June 26, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Have lunch at Lola’s Kitchen, a cute downtown eatery. Try the vegetarian poutine — French fries with mushroom gravy, caramelized onions and goat cheese for $9 — oor the meat version for $11. This traditional Canadian food is hard to find in the United States, so enjoy it while you can.
After lunch, spend the afternoon visiting the Toronto Waterfront Trail. Rent a bike or take a stroll down this scenic, urban trail.
Enjoy dinner at The Harbord Room. Order the satisfying winter roots salad, a mixture of stewed greens, red quinoa, chestnut, tomato and garlic croutons for $12.
Continue exploring the streets of downtown Toronto and end the night with milk tea and tapioca pearl drink from Bubble Tease.
Use your extra money, about $40, for snacks, gifts and tips and plan your return trip to Toronto soon.
