At nearly 30,000 square feet, United Airlines’ newest United ClubSM now welcomes Newark Liberty International Airport travelers with its modern design, enhanced amenities, culinary offerings, locally sourced art and furniture and Manhattan skyline views. Seek airport solace at the new location in Terminal C3, near Gate C123.
The new United Club happens to be the carrier’s largest in its network, with nearly 500 seats and space for lounging, working, dining and socializing. But that’s far from the club’s only superlative, as it boasts many firsts among United Club locations. There’s also six, spa-like shower suites for freshening up before your flight, complete with products from Sunday Riley; and a barista-staffed, full-service coffee bar for that little pick-me-up pre-flight. The various amenities pair perfectly with the culinary offerings in the club, including complimentary beverages and snacks.
Sustainability meets modern design here. The new design and color scheme set the standard for future new and refurbished United Club locations. The locally sourced furniture and décor pair perfectly with the unmatched views of the Manhattan skyline — and all the design features align with the airline’s sustainability commitment. Travelers enjoy modern amenities, self-scan entry for quick access, complimentary high-speed WiFi, WaterSense-rated fixtures, enhanced indoor air quality and green cleaning.
“As more and more customers return to the skies, United is committed to delivering a superior customer experience on and off the plane, especially in increasingly crowded airports,” said Aaron McMillan, managing director of hospitality & planning, United Airlines. “Our new Newark United Club location is carefully designed with the customer at the forefront and includes thoughtful touches like murals and décor that reflect the local community. This design theme and commitment to creating a locally inspired experience will set the precedent for future United Club openings and renovations across our network.”
Unique to this newest United Club is a collaboration with The Newark Museum of Art and Gallery Aferro to prominently display two murals created by local artists. Gilbert Hsiao sought inspiration in both Newark’s musical legacy and United’s history to create the eye-catching mural in the entryway, using dots and circles representing abstract beats in space in a nod to the United globe. Dahlia Elsayed’s piece, housed within the lounge, honors Arshile Gorky’s iconic 1936–1967 EWR murals, and includes imagery from the built and natural environments from the surrounding area.
