United Kingdom’s First Floating Padel Tennis Courts at Liverpool Waters

Liverpool City Council is currently reviewing plans submitted to create the United Kingdom’s first floating Padel Tennis courts and floating club house at Liverpool Waters. To build, Peel Waters partnered with a team of international experts and waterside regeneration specialists.

Padel is a racquet sport combining elements of tennis and squash, typically played as doubles and with smaller courts and quicker games. The sport is accessible for all ages and skill levels. The United Kingdom currently boasts more than 700 Padel courts, but this new concept at Liverpool Waters will represent the first such floating facility. According to the proposal, the facility will sit within Princess Docks at Liverpool Waters with three floating Padel courts built on a special floating platform made in Finland with courts manufactured in Spain.

This new facility will be an iconic, must-visit Padel destination both for Padel enthusiasts and general spectators encouraging more socialising, friendship forming and opportunities for the area.”

A new floating clubhouse is also included in the plans, along with a bar and kitchen, a decked seating area, and a small specialist retail store. A decision on the proposal is expected this spring.
