Crate-diggers rejoice, there is a new service available that will be a boon to any vinyl-junkie’s record collection. Vinyl Me, Please is a subscription service that delivers a special LP to your door every month, in addition to a cocktail recipe pairing with your record and a weekly newsletter of digital downloads.
Priced at $23 a month plus shipping, Vinyl Me will deliver either an early-release or limited-edition vinyl LP. Past releases from The War on Drugs and MF DOOM were made exclusively for Vinyl Me, pressed on custom-colored records with an original, 12-inch-by-12-inch art print inspired by the album. Genres cover mostly rock, pop and hip hop, aiming to deliver new releases alongside classic reissues. Other add-ons have included lyric books, merchandise and handwritten notes from the artists themselves.
The chief complaint of Vinyl Me, Please will be the lack of control over what records you get. For serious record heads, nothing beats the feeling of digging through crates and finding that lost gem, so having your collection curated by someone else might be a turn-off. This service is best suited for those who are interested in getting into vinyl and want to kick start their record collection.
You can learn more about the record subscription service at vinylmeplease.com.
