Visalia, California, welcomes locals and visitors alike to experience some of its spring food and drink activities and events. Comprising part of one of the major agricultural regions in California, Visalia offers an array of culinary events and experiences this spring.
Guests looking to attend a food event can anticipate delicious meals and fun experiences. On April 22, 5:30–8 p.m., head to Farmer Bob’s World for the Tree to Table Dinner in the Groves event. This special BBQ steak dinner also features a wagon tour of the farm, live entertainment and a silent and live auction. All proceeds from the event benefit Farmer Bob’s World, a local citrus farm, to expand services to engage schools and businesses.
The following day, April 23, enjoy the 3rd Annual Taco Truck Challenge from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Taking place at Visalia Mall, 22 of the best food trucks in the Central Valley will appear and take part in the challenge. This free event allows visitors to enjoy tasty tacos, live music and a Budweiser beer garden.
Visalia features a number of other food experiences in the area locals and visitors can enjoy year-round. In the Microbrewery District, explore many breweries, such as BarrelHouse Brewing, one of the largest family-owned and -operated craft breweries in the region. Other breweries in the area include Brewbakers Brewing Company and Visalia Brewing Company.
Embark on a Taco Tour, a self-guided tour of 10 of Visalia’s most popular Latin and Mexican restaurants. The tour takes guests to restaurants like Velascos, Fugazzis Bistro, El Tarasco and Javi’s Taco Shack.
Every Thursday night, 5:30 to 8 p.m., the Downtown Farmer’s Market offers fresh produce and more. For an authentic farm-to-hand experience, pick fresh fruit at Big L Ranch Blueberry U Pick or Naylor’s U Pick to pick fresh fruit like organic blueberries, the perfect springtime fruit to enjoy.
