Walk with polar bears in the wild on an arctic adventure with Frontiers North Adventures, offering adventurers interested in experiential travel the chance to get nose-to-nose with the world’s largest land predators on its Tundra Buggy Adventure.
The tour company brings travelers within touching distance of the endangered species in Churchill, Manitoba, in northern Canada via massive, hand-built machines known as Tundra Buggies. Specially designed to handle the harsh Arctic tundra, the all-terrain vehicles stand 13 feet high, allowing guests to safely take in the landscape and view wildlife in their natural environment.
The Tundra Buggy Adventure takes travelers into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area for wildlife viewing and photography. The buggy travels on established trails in the Churchill area that are best for wildlife sightings, boasting residents such as polar bears as well as a variety of plant life and wildlife all year round.
Excursions range from day trips to fully catered stays in the Tundra Buggy lodge, nestled in the heart of polar bear country. Featuring two accommodation units, a lounge and café unit, the lodge offers an immersive experience for guests who can sleep and wake up with polar bears outside their windows. Viewing platforms also allow for optimum viewing of the Northern Lights at night.
