In special events, Cheyenne’s Winter Knights takes place Feb. 15–16. A medieval experience headlined by extreme jousters, this full-weekend festival taking place at Cheyenne’s Events Center at Archer also features a medieval market, dining and more entertainment.
If you’re looking for excitement of a different variety, a new gaming option recently opened. Horse Palace at Swan Ranch is a 30,000-square-foot, $25 million facility with slots, games, entertainment venues and a steakhouse.
If you’re traveling with the kiddos, Cheyenne Children’s Museum is set to open soon. In Cheyenne’s West Edge, the museum offers interactive learning experiences focused on STEAM subjects, as well as extensive programming.

You might also consider visiting the Wyoming State Capitol, which celebrates the 135th anniversary of Wyoming’s statehood July 10. The Capitol is a National Historic Landmark, a status fewer than half the state’s capitols can claim.
