Just a short drive from Atlanta, Cobb County, Georgia, offers outdoor fun, charming small towns and a slower pace than the city, but with all the conveniences of being located in a major city’s metro.
So, what should you do during a visit?

If it’s baseball season, grab a seat at Truist Park and watch an Atlanta Braves game. If it’s not baseball season, head over for a tour of the venue.
For a bit of history, take a trip to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. At nearly 3,000 acres, the park is massive and offers a lot of recreational opportunities; it’s also considered the most-visited Civil War site in the country.

For the great outdoors, but with a little more in the way of cultivation, try Smith-Gilbert Gardens, a 16-acre botanical garden with more than 4,000 species.
Traveling with the fam or just looking for some thrills? The county is home to Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water, so you can have some fun in the sun, whether you want to stay dry or cool off.
If your idea of a good time while visiting a new place includes seeing a show, check out what’s on at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, or catch a show at the historic Strand Theatre.
