Sandler Center for the Performing Arts hosts a special art exhibit on display in the mezzanine lobby. Opening Aug. 21, Beasts, Bugs and Botanicals features an original collection of oversized birds, bugs and flowers from sculptor Barbara Kobylinska, a Virginia Beach native. The exhibit will be on display through the end of the year.
Virginia Aquarium hosts a special exhibit titled Amazing Pollinators. Opening in September, the exhibit highlights the interconnectedness of pollinator species and humans. Entrance to the exhibit is included with aquarium admission.
Runners of all skill levels have several races to look forward to in the coming months. The inaugural Chartway Virginia Beach 10 Miler takes place on Labor Day weekend, with an option to participate in a 5K. The annual Wicked 10K takes place Oct. 27–28. The race is the largest Halloween race and party in the region.
