No one can deny staying in a luxury hotel is preferrable when traveling. However, are there times when a budget hotel is just the better option? Here are a few times when that may just be the case.
You’re Not Going to Be There Long Enough for It to Matter
Taking a road trip, planning on getting into town late, snoozing for eight hours and then hitting the road again? You likely don’t need anything fancy and won’t be at the hotel long enough to take advantage of any special, luxurious amenities. Go for the budget hotel, so long as it’s clean, well-reviewed and safe.
The Budget Hotel Comes with a More Desirable Location
In some instances, the budget hotel might come with a more desirable location, as compared to more luxurious hotels in a city’s downtown. You might need to be near a conference center or hospital. You might be visiting family or friends who are just closer to the budget hotel. In these cases, you’re often not even spending much time at the budget hotel in the first place; you’re in town for a different reason. Go for the budget option.
You Really Do Just Want the Free Breakfast.
There are some people who really do love the free breakfast buffet at a budget hotel. If you’re one of them, no judgement. Enjoy your waffles and eggs, all while knowing you probably got a great deal on your stay.
