Tips / Travel

Earth Day falls on April 22 this year. In its 45th year, the annual event celebrates the environmental movement worldwide. With more than 22,000 partners in 192 countries, the Earth Day Network promotes a variety of education, public policy and activism campaigns. Take action this Earth Day through one of these various events.

Chicago

The 26th annual Parks and Preserves clean up takes place throughout the city’s green spaces on the Saturday before Earth Day, April 18.

Denver

This free Denver event from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. features numerous environmental-related demonstrations and interactive displays. Recycling for various items will be available.

New York City

Participate in the NYC 5K Walk & Green Tour. Walk from site to site, while learning about green buildings and urban farms. The event ends in a picnic lunch.

Philadelphia

Take part in activities at Philadelphia‘s National Constitution Center. Eco-friendly organizations will be on site to share information with visitors.

San Francisco

Join in on the Earth Day fun at the annual San Francisco street fair. Visit the holistic wellness area. Get creative with hands-on art projects. Watch a spectacular eco-fashion show.
