Ideal for thrill seekers, this cloud forest in central Costa Rica lets you explore both cloud forests and an active volcano in one trip. The site’s mixture of altitude and heat creates a foggy atmospheric experience sure to take your breath away.

Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve

Nicknamed “The Silence,” this cloud forest was named after its peaceful environment. Situated in Costa Rica’s Central Highlands, this cloud forest features moist conditions, high elevations and moss-covered trees, making the perfect setting for meditation, walks or other quiet activities like birdwatching. This cloud forest has fewer visitors than its Monteverde counterpart, allowing visitors to have a more serene experience.
