There are plenty of adventurous activities in Tuolumne County for thrillseekers. Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort boasts 862 skiable acres, with 70 trails and 12 lifts. Season passes are currently on sale. Head to Leland High Sierra Snowplay for the largest dedicated snow tubing and snow play park on the West Coast. Go snowshoeing among the majestic sequoias in Yosemite National Park. The Tuolumne Grove trail offers a challenging, 2.5-mile, round-trip trek. During the winter season, Long Barn Lodge opens Long Barn Ice Skating Rink, the only ice-skating rink in Tuolumne County. Take a break from the cold at Black Oak Casino’s Elevate. The indoor entertainment complex features dodgeball, golf simulators, trampolines, obstacle courses and more.
Tuolumne County offers festive fun during the winter months. Christmas Town Sonora hosts an array of holiday activities including a parade, holiday bazaar and visits with Santa. Visit Columbia State Historic Park for lamplight tours detailing the history of the region on Dec. 6 and 7. Enjoy a Victorian Feast at Gold Country’s City Hotel in the park. The theatrical performance and meal takes place Dec. 6, 8, 12, 13 and 18.
