Tips / Destination

September is one of the best times to travel; the weather is a little cooler and crowds are a little lighter with kids back in school. This year, destinations all over the world offer different types of activities throughout September.

Boone, North Carolina

September is National Yoga Awareness Month, and yoga lovers and wellness enthusiasts can celebrate all month long at Art of Living Retreat Center. The Art of Living Retreat Center is an Ayurvedic wellness, yoga and meditation getaway, offering an immersive and transformational wellness experience. Guests can participate in various retreat programs, workshops, yoga and meditation classes, outdoor activities and more with scenic backgrounds.

SoHo, New York, New York

New York Fashion Week returns to New York, Sept. 8-12, at Angel Orensanz. Get a glimpse of the some of the hottest outfits and styles from leading fashion designers, as well as live entertainment and private bar access. NoMo SoHo lies 15 minutes from the venue, making it the perfect place to stay for the festivities. Every room in the hotel features 10-foot, floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the city skyline.

Richmond, Virginia

All beer lovers should visit Richmond, Virginia, for National Drink Beer Day, Sept. 28. The Richmond Beer Trail offers guests the chance to visit more than 30 craft breweries, distilleries and cideries, each boasting their own unique home-brewed flavors. The trail is located in the Manchester neighborhood, which also features local history like the Manchester Slave Trail and Historic Chesterfield Courthouse.

Riviera Maya, Mexico

Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya lies amidst the natural surroundings of Mexico, spanning more than 590 acres of breathtaking oceanfront views. Take advantage of the resort’s open, barrier-free design and luxury amenities and accommodations. Mexican Independence Day is celebrated Sept. 16, and guests at the hotel can celebrate with a Kermes festival, featuring classic Mexican street food and beachside entertainment.
