Picturesque hotels, restaurants and views are a dime a dozen in France, but particularly so in Chamonix. This mountainous region is a getaway to another time and place of the highest caliber.
Chamonix is a one of the oldest, high-end ski resorts in France, with many of the original hotels being built in the early 1900s. It managed to maintain its small village quaintness. Just on the Italian border and perfectly located at the base of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps, it is no wonder winter lovers flock to this region every year.
Hotel Mont Blanc is perfectly set in the center of town within walking distance to nearby shops, pubs and ski lifts. This 5-star resort offers a heated outdoor pool, hot tub and spa among many other amenities. Staying in fully-loaded apartments and B&Bs is another popular option in Chamonix, but as far as 5-star resorts go, Mont Blanc tops the charts.

The French Alps would not be complete without a visit to the epic views of the Brevent Mountains from Le Panoramic. Le Panoramic is a small bites restaurant and café just a cable car trip from the center of town and lives up to the name.
The outdoor dining is set incredibly high, giving diners a birds’ eye view of the village and an eye-level view of the Alps. The restaurant options in Chamonix are amazing and should all be a must try.
The Chamonix Skywalk is a must stop for an unbeatable view and experience. Located at the Aiguille du Midi mountain peak above Chamonix, this five walled, glass installation offers the bravest of tourists a look over the entire town with just glass beneath their feet.
Between the snow-covered mountains, crystal blue skies and gorgeous accommodations, Chamonix should be on all winter lovers’ top travel lists.

Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska spans more than 6 million acres; however, most visitors only see a fraction of the park.
