Destinations / Europe

When you think of the perfect time to visit Paris, you might imagine strolling the streets in the spring or summer, but don’t overlook Paris for a winter trip.

If you visit in January, you’ll have the chance to not only avoid some crowds, but also attend two events that will particularly appeal to arts and fashion aficionados. Jan. 16–20, Maison & Objet is a French trade fair bringing together creatives and designers within the lifestyle sector to showcase unique décor, furnishings, textiles and more, all surrounding this year’s theme of New Surrealism. Then, at the end of the month, Paris Fashion Week kicks off.

Additionally, if you’re still in the festive spirit come January, you’ll find several Christmas markets in Paris stay open throughout the early part of the month, allowing you to extend your celebrations.

For a stay that’s just as eye-catching as the fashion and creative works you’ll find at the above events, consider booking Maison Proust Paris. This design-heavy hotel offers just less than two dozen guestrooms and suites, an on-site bar, library, winter garden, and spa helmed by the La Mer brand. The spa also includes a swimming pool and hammam.
