You are desperately trying to connect to your hotel’s Wi-Fi connection but the signal keeps dropping. You merely need to check an email, but technology isn’t on your side. You concede and head for the lobby, crouching down in an awkward and uncomfortable position just to get a little peace and WiFi. Traveling and establishing a WiFi connection don’t often go together. You never know what kind of WiFi strength you might encounter on the road. To be on the safe side, pack these three WiFi tools for a better connection as you travel.
WiFi Signal Booster
Sometimes the problem isn’t your hotel’s WiFi, but rather your computer’s inability to pick up a decent WiFi signal. Luckily, there is a solution. Travelers that frequently suffer from poor signal strength should invest in a WiFi signal booster. These devices are usually quite affordable and can make your computer’s ability to pick up a WiFi signal much stronger.
Ethernet Cord
While an ethernet cord might seem like something from the Stone Ages, it could be your saving grace when you need to get that file into the office on your spotty Paris WiFi connection. An ethernet cord comes in handy when your hotel’s WiFi connection keeps dropping the signal and your WiFi booster doesn’t seem to help. By using an ethernet cord, you can gain access to a much stronger wired connection. You won’t have to battle through walls and floors to reach the hotel’s main WiFi router.
Travel Router
If your hotel room has an ethernet hook up, you don’t have to be tethered to that wired connection if you pack a travel router. You can use a travel router when the signal strength is very low. After you plug in the ethernet cable to the travel router, you can begin using WiFi with the strength of a wired connection. A travel router is also useful when your hotel’s router is on the first floor and you are on the distant seventh floor.
