Located steps from Eagle Beach, Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort provides a captivating getaway for travelers in need of an escape. The AAA Three Diamond and pet-friendly resort offers six different room types and is currently at the end of a floor-to-ceiling renovation. Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort also puts sustainability at the forefront of operations with these initiatives.
Electricity Consumption
Heating is currently captured from air conditioners and used to heat up shower water. Roofs and windows are insulated to reduce the need for cooling. Thermal panels at the hotel also help preheat shower water, and the solar boiler system decreased electricity consumption by 40 percent. All hotel lights are LED-based.
Water Consumption
The hotel features low-flow faucets, showerheads and toilets. Wastewater produced by laundry is reused for irrigation, and there is a towel-reuse program where guests can decide if they want to save water by reusing towels and linens.
Waste Production
All glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and metal at the hotel are separately disposed of, collected and then processed by third-party companies. Food waste from the kitchen and from guests’ plates is collected and donated to a local pig farmer. All utensils are made of biodegradable products. The hotel also organizes monthly beach clean-ups to protect the local environment.
Along with all these initiatives and procedures, the hotel uses eco-friendly cleaning products and no harsh chemicals.
