Beginning next May, enjoy free WiFi on Air Canada flights in North America. This amenity will be available to Aeroplan loyalty members on WiFi-equipped aircraft for Air Canada mainline, Rouge and Express aircraft, with long-haul international routes slated to receive free WiFi in 2026.

It’s completely free to join Air Canada’s Aeroplan loyalty program. Simply sign up on the airline’s website or mobile app and begin earning and redeeming points as you travel with Air Canada or any of its Star Alliance member airlines. Think free checked bags, cabin upgrades and lounge access.

“Over 85% of aircraft will be connected from day one, with the remaining installations being a priority throughout 2025,” said Mark Nasr, executive vice president, Marketing and Digital, Air Canada.

The new WiFi service will be sponsored by Bell, which currently partners with the airline on the free WiFi texting service available to Aeroplan members since 2023.

“Although other Canadian airlines have announced free Wi-Fi services, not all have accelerated installation across their fleets or committed to offering the service comprehensively,” continued Nasr. “Air Canada plans to offer fast, free Wi-Fi across its entire fleet and will begin rolling out this service in early spring. “

Air Canada also plans to implement the free WiFi service on a Q400 aircraft, which would mark a first in the industry.
