Zambi Restaurant

Dining in Maputo can be somewhat hit or miss, but Zambi is ranked as one of the city’s most consistently excellent eateries. With an expansive menu of eclectic gastronomic fusion options and a fantastic wine list, it’s a great place to take a date or just spend a quiet evening among friends.

While the dinner menu contains a variety of offerings, the true draw of Zambi is the seafood. I can’t speak to any of the main dishes served because they now boast a sushi buffet, and who can pass that up? I dove right in shortly after arriving and was delighted by the array of sushi options available. Many of the wraps were stuffed with somewhat odd choices, including fruit, but still tasted wonderful.

The ambience of the restaurant is relaxing. Zambi adheres to a somewhat formal atmosphere and it’s certainly never a rowdy place. The staff was incredibly helpful and eager to offer suggestions from the menu, while also being courteous and prompt. When the weather is nice they have a large seating area on the patio with some pretty spectacular views.

Any lover of seafood and sushi will truly enjoy dining out at Zambi, easily one of my favorite restaurants in Maputo.
